In the aftermath of the twentieth session of the Governing Council, UN-Habitat has intensified efforts to mobilize the members of the Advisory Group and to coordinate the review process in line with resolution 20/18.

In light of this, UN-Habitat has encouraged Member States to establish national habitat committees, in line with resolution 62/198, in which the General Assembly encouraged Member States to strengthen or establish, as appropriate, broad-based national Habitat committees with a view to mainstreaming sustainable urbanization and urban poverty reduction in their respective national development strategies.
وفي ضوء ذلك، فقد شجع موئل الأمم المتحدة الدول الأعضاء على إنشاء لجان الموئل الوطنية، تمشياً مع القرار 62/198، الذي تشجع فيه الجمعية العامة الدول الأعضاء على القيام، حسب الاقتضاء، بتعزيز أو إنشاء لجان وطنية عريضة القاعدة معنية بالموئل بغية إدراج التحضر المستدام والتخفيف من وطأة الفقر في المدن ضمن استراتيجياتها الإنمائية الوطنية.
