16 - يلاحظ باهتمام أن إنشاء الشعبة الجديدة لأفريقيا وأقل البلدان نموا والبرامج الخاصة قد أفضى إلى إعادة التفكير في النهج الاستراتيجي وفي توحيد وتنسيق أنشطة التعاون التقني التي تضطلع بها هذه الشعبة، ويطلب من الأمانة إطلاع الدول الأعضاء، بصورة منتظمة، على ما يستجد من تطورات في هذا الصدد؛

Since the purpose of the General Assembly in establishing UNCITRAL had been to unify and coordinate the different domestic laws and rules concerning international trade, it was desirable that delegations should refrain from insisting on their own domestic laws and rules, so as to ensure that the work of unifying laws proceeded smoothly.
ولما كان قصد الجمعية العامة من إنشاء اللجنة هو توحيد وتنسيق مختلف القوانين والقواعد المحلية المتعلقة بالتجارة الدولية، فإنه من المستصوب أن تمتنع الوفود عن الاصرار على قوانينها وقواعدها المحلية لكي تمضي اﻷعمال المتعلقة بتوحيد القوانين في يسر.

On this occasion, we call upon other delegations to work, under the constantly changing conditions of our world, towards achieving those purposes and unifying and coordinating efforts so that optimum results can be attained.

The work of international and intergovernmental organizations such as UNCITRAL can assist in creating international uniformity and harmonization of the laws on the subject.
ويمكن أن يساعد عمل منظمات حكومية دولية ومنظمات دولية من قبيل لجنة اﻷمم المتحدة للقانون التجاري الدولي في توحيد وتنسيق القوانين المتعلقة بهذا الموضوع دوليا.
