1. We welcome the progress in negotiations to clarify and improve the WTO's disciplines and procedures on regional trade agreements (RTAs).

In the context of the negotiations to clarify and improve the text of GATT 1994, a number of proposals have been put forward on trade facilitation, including proposals to amend article V with a view to further expediting the movement, release and clearance of goods.
