H.E. Mr. Ahmed Bin Abdullah Al-Mahmoud, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar, and H.E. Mr. Djibril Bassolé, the African Union-United Nations Joint Chief Mediator, issued the following statement:
أدلى سعادة السيد أحمد بن عبد الله آل محمود وزير الدولة للشؤون الخارجية وسعادة السيد جبريل باسولي الوسيط المشترك للاتحاد الأفريقي والأمم المتحدة بالبيان التالي:

The Conference commended the tremendous efforts, commitment and patience exhibited by H.E. Mr. Ahmed Bin Abdullah Al-Mahmoud, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar, and H.E. Mr. Djibril Bassolé, the African Union-United Nations Joint Chief Mediator towards finding a political settlement of the crisis.
وقد أشاد المؤتمر كذلك بالجهود الهائلة التي بذلها كل من سعادة السيد أحمد بن عبد الله آل محمود وزير الدولة للشؤون الخارجية بدولة قطر وسعادة السيد جبريل باسولي الوسيط المشترك للاتحاد الأفريقي والأمم المتحدة والالتزام والصبر اللذين أبدياهما تجاه إيجاد تسوية سياسية شاملة للأزمة.

On behalf of myself and Mr. Djibril Bassolé, the Joint African Union-United Nations Chief Mediator for Darfur, I would like to extend to you our sincerest greetings.

The Council was encouraged by the work of the joint African Union-United Nations Chief Mediator for Darfur, Yipéné Djibrill Bassolé.
كما أعرب المجلس عن شعور بالارتياح إزاء ما قام به كبير الوسطاء المشترك للأمم المتحدة والاتحاد الأفريقي في دارفور، يبيني جبريل باسولي.

48. The newly appointed African Union-United Nations Joint Chief Mediator for Darfur, Mr. Djibrill Bassolé, arrived in the Sudan on 25 August.
48 - وصل كبير الوسطاء المشترك بين الاتحاد الأفريقي والأمم المتحدة بشأن دارفور المعيَّن حديثا السيد جبريل باسولي إلى السودان في 25 آب/أغسطس.

8. The meeting pledged its firm support for the newly appointed joint United Nations/African Union chief mediator on the Darfur conflict, Djibril Bassole, and urged the parties to extend full cooperation for the success of his mission.
8 - تعهد الاجتماع بتقديم الدعم الأكيد لكبير الوسطاء المشترك بين الأمم المتحدة والاتحاد الأفريقي المعني بنـزاع دارفور، جبريل باسولي الذي عُيِّن مؤخرا، وحث الأطراف على التعاون التام معه لإنجاح مهمته.

H.E. Mr. Ahmed Bin Abdullah Al-Mahmoud, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar, and H.E. Mr. Djibrill Bassole, the African Union/United Nations Joint Chief Mediator for Darfur, issued the following statement:-

Sir, I am joined by Djibril Bassolé, the African Union-United Nations Joint Chief Mediator for Darfur, in extending to you my very best wishes.
أبعث إليكم أنا وأخي جبريل باسولي الوسيط المشترك للاتحاد الأفريقي والأمم المتحدة بأطيب تحياتنا وصادق أمنياتنا لمعاليكم بالصحة والعافية .. وبعد.

Joint Chief Mediator Djibril Bassolé is in contact with the leadership of both movements to urge them to join the process and to discuss possible modalities for their participation.
إن كبير الوسطاء المشترك جبريل باسولي على اتصال مع قيادتي الحركتين لحثهما على الانضمام إلى العملية ومناقشة الطرائق الممكنة لمشاركتهما.

Secondly: Appreciate the kind auspices by H.H. Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa AlThani, Emir of the State of Qatar and the mediation by the esteemed Government of the State of Qatar and the AU-UN Joint Chief Mediator, Mr. Djibril Bassolé;
ثانيا: يثمنان الرعاية الكريمة التي يتفضل بها حضرة صاحب السمو الشيخ حمد بن خليفة آل ثاني أمير دولة قطر والوساطة التي تضطلع بها حكومة دولة قطر الموقرة والسيد جبريل باسولي الوسيط المشترك للأمم المتحدة والاتحاد الأفريقي.

In this vein, I should like to conclude my remarks by calling on the Council to continue to support dedicated and focused efforts to address the root causes of the Darfur conflict in a holistic manner through the activities of UNAMID and of my colleague Djibril Bassolé and in collaboration with the AU High-level Implementation Panel.
وفي هذا السياق، أود أن أختتم ملاحظاتي بمناشدة المجلس مواصلة دعم الجهود المتفانية والمركزة لمعالجة الأسباب الجذرية للصراع في دارفور بطريقة كلية من خلال أنشطة العملية المختلطة وأنشطة زميلي جبريل باسولي وبالتعاون مع الفريق الرفيع المستوى المعني بالتنفيذ التابع للاتحاد الأفريقي.

The mission also met with the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Burkina Faso, Djibril Bassolé, in his capacity as representative of the President of Burkina Faso, Blaise Compaoré, who is the current Chairman of the Heads of State and Government of ECOWAS and Facilitator of the Ivorian direct political dialogue.
48 - واجتمعت بعثة مجلس الأمن أيضا مع وزير خارجية بوركينا فاسو جبريل باسولي بصفته ممثلا للرئيس بليز كومباوري رئيس بوركينا فاسو، الذي يتولى حاليا رئاسة رؤساء الدول والحكومات الأعضاء في الجماعة الاقتصادية لدول غرب أفريقيا ويقوم بتيسير الحوار السياسي المباشر بين الأطراف الإيفوارية.

To reiterate the support of the Council for the African UnionUnited Nationsled peace process and the work of the Joint African UnionUnited Nations Chief Mediator for Darfur, Mr. Djibril Bassolé, including the principles guiding the negotiations, and the urgent need for achieving substantive progress.
" 10 - تكرار تأكيد دعم المجلس لعملية السلام بقيادة الاتحاد الأفريقي والأمم المتحدة والعمل الذي يضطلع به السيد جبريل باسولي كبير الوسطاء المشترك بين الاتحاد الأفريقي والأمم المتحدة لدارفور، بما في ذلك المبادئ التي يسترشد بها في المفاوضات والضرورة الملحة لتحقيق تقدم ملموس في هذا الصدد.

The Council, while supporting the full implementation of the various peace agreements in Darfur, in particular the Framework Agreement, signed at Doha on 23 February 2010, between the Government and the Movement for Justice and Equity, reaffirmed its firm support for the Joint African Union-United Nations Mediator, Djibril Bassolé.
ورغم أن المجلس يؤيد التنفيذ الكامل لاتفاقات السلام المختلفة في دارفور، لا سيما الاتفاق الإطاري والموقع في الدوحة في 23 شباط/فبراير 2010 بين الحكومة وحركة العدل والمساواة، فهو يؤكد من جديد دعمه الثابت للوسيط المشترك لكل من الأمم المتحدة والاتحاد الأفريقي، جبريل باسولي.

10. To reiterate the support of the Security Council for the African Union-United Nations-led peace process and the work of the Joint African Union-United Nations Chief Mediator, Mr. Djibril Bassolé, including the principles guiding the negotiations, and the urgent need for achieving substantive progress.
10 - تكرار تأكيد دعم مجلس الأمن لعملية السلام بقيادة الاتحاد الأفريقي والأمم المتحدة، والعمل الذي يضطلع به السيد جبريل باسولي كبير الوسطاء المفوض من الاتحاد الأفريقي والأمم المتحدة، بما في ذلك المبادئ التي تسترشد بها المفاوضات، والحاجة الماسة إلى تحقيق تقدم ملموس في هذا الصدد.

On my part, in a communiqué dated 7 April 2012, I welcomed the signing of the Framework Agreement, paying tribute to Presidents Alassane Dramane Ouattara and Blaise Compaoré and the action of Minister Djibrill Bassolé.
وكنت في بيان صدر في 7 نيسان/أبريل 2012 أعربت عن ارتياحي للتوقيع على الاتفاق الإطاري وأثنيت على الرئيسين ألاسان درامان وتارة وبليز كومباوري وأشدت بعمل الوزير جبريل باسولي.

4. The Joint Chief Mediator, Djibrill Bassolé, and the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of Qatar, Ahmed bin Abdullah Al-Mahmoud, visited Darfur from 28 November to 2 December to promote the provisional outcomes of the Doha negotiations and to discuss with stakeholders outstanding issues.
4 - وقام كبير الوسطاء المشترك جبريل باسولي ووزير الدولة للشؤون الخارجية في قطر، أحمد بن عبد الله آل محمود، بزيارة دارفور في الفترة من 28 تشرين الثاني/نوفمبر إلى 2 كانون الأول/ديسمبر لتعزيز النتائج المؤقتة لمفاوضات الدوحة ومناقشة القضايا المعلقة مع أصحاب المصلحة.

In that regard, I welcome the latest efforts of both Joint Chief Mediator Djibrill Bassolé and Joint Special Representative Ibrahim Gambari in trying to convince Abdul Wahid to change his attitude, adopt a positive posture and join the peace process in the interest of his people, and I urge those Member States with influence over him to encourage him to join the talks in Doha.
وأرحب في هذا الصدد بالجهود التي قام بها مؤخرا كلا من جبريل باسولي كبير الوسطاء المشترك وإبراهيم غمباري الممثل الخاص المشترك في محاولة لإقناع عبد الواحد بأن يغير موقفه، ويتبني موقفا أكثر إيجابية وأن ينضم إلى عملية السلام لصالح أهالي منطقته، وأحث الدول الأعضاء التي يمكن أن يكون لها تأثير عليه أن تشجعه على الانضمام إلى محادثات الدوحة.

The African Union-United Nations Joint Chief Mediator, Djibrill Bassolé, met with the Tripoli Group (comprised of five rebel movements) in Sirte, Libyan Arab Jamahiriya, from 28 to 30 June to discuss the possible participation of the Group in the Doha negotiations.
واجتمع كبير الوسطاء المشترك للاتحاد الأفريقي والأمم المتحدة جبريل باسولي مع مجموعة طرابلس (المؤلفة من خمس حركات متمردة) في سرت، بالجماهيرية العربية الليبية، في الفترة من 28 إلى 30 حزيران/يونيه، بهدف مناقشة إمكانية مشاركة المجموعة في مفاوضات الدوحة.
