أ - طُلب إنشاء وظيفتين جديدتين من فئة الخدمات العامة لتمكين مكتب جنيف من مواجهة الزيادات المستمرة في حجم العمل والمسؤوليات.

11. The new programme-budget for 2002-2003, approved by the General Assembly at its fifty-sixth session, provides for the abolition of the two P-2 posts previously held by the Unit and for the creation of a new P-4 post and two new General Service posts, in addition to an increase in resources for individual contractors.

It is noted that, in the current proposals, the cost of the proposed creation of two new General Service (Other level) posts has been offset by cost reductions in other areas of the budget.
ويلاحظ في المقترحات الحالية أن تكلفة استحداث وظيفتين جديدتين من فئة الخدمات العامة (الرتب الأخرى) تقابله أوجه نقص في التكاليف في مجالات أخرى من الميزانية.

This includes three new Professional posts (1 P-5 and 2 P-4) and two new General Service (Other level) posts.

There is now a need for two new General Service (other level) posts to cope with this volume increase, as follows:

VI.14 Under executive direction and management, the Secretary-General proposes the establishment of two new General Service (Other level) posts for the Document Processing Unit, to meet the increased workload and to ensure that the service required by the Human Rights Council and the treaty bodies is adequate (A/66/6 (Sect. 24), para. 24.59).

The Advisory Committee recommends approval of the request for two new General Service (Local level) posts for a laboratory technician to maintain the new laboratory to be established within the Health Services Unit at Arusha and a nurse to provide dispensary services in Kigali (ibid., paras. 95-96).

2.14 Under Conference and library services, Vienna, part of the existing temporary assistance resources are converted to add two new General Service (Other level) posts to strengthen meeting and documentation control and another two new General Service (Other level) posts, one in the Contractual Translation Unit and one in the Linguistic Support Unit, to strengthen those functions.

The increase in posts reflects proposals: (a) to strengthen reference and terminology support by converting temporary assistance resources to two new General Service (Other level) posts; and (b) to redeploy to this subprogramme two P-3 and two General Service (Other level) posts from subprogramme 3 to reinforce the Official Records Editing Section and the Reference Unit so as to improve the flow of documents.
وتعكس الزيادة في الوظائف مقترحين اثنين هما: تعزيز الدعم المقدم في مجالي إعداد المراجع وتوفير المصطلحات من خلال تحويل موارد المساعدة المؤقتة إلى وظيفتين جديدتين من فئة الخدمات العامة (الرتب الأخرى)؛ و (ب) نقل وظيفتين من الرتبة ف - 3 ووظيفتين من فئة الخدمات العامة (الرتب الأخرى) من البرنامج الفرعي 3 إلى هذا البرنامج لتعزيز قسم تحرير الوثائق الرسمية ووحدة المراجع بغية تحسين تدفق الوثائق.
