The English text of the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide speaks of genocide as a crime under international law.
فنص اتفاقية منع جريمة اﻹبادة الجماعية والمعاقبة عليها يشير إلى اﻹبادة الجماعية بوصفها جريمة بمقتضى القانون الدولي.

The international community had to strengthen its efforts to eradicate the problem and to assist those who had been victims of what was a crime under international law.

A view was expressed that the qualification of a crime under international law seemed redundant in view of the reference to article 20 (a) to (d).
