Such demand is routinely for either migrants or children, in conditions where the workers concerned are unable (or unauthorized) to leave their employer - conditions which are sometimes due directly to legislation in force in the State concerned and sometimes a lack of protection measures, particularly child protection measures - for particular commercial sexual services which are not available from someone who has not been trafficked.

CEDAW strongly urged Fiji to take concrete steps to address its concerns that sex work continued to be criminalized and that sex workers were often victims of violence and were particularly vulnerable to torture and ill-treatment by the police, as well as its concerns about the exploitation of underage girls in commercial sex work.
27- وحثّت اللجنة المعنية بالقضاء على التمييز ضد المرأة فيجي بقوة على اتخاذ خطوات ملموسة لمعالجة جوانب قلقها من أن العمل في مجال الجنس لا يزال يُجرَّم ولأن المشتغلين بالجنس كثيراً ما يكونوا، جراء ذلك، ضحية العنف والاستضعاف على وجه الخصوص لما يتعرضون له من تعذيب وسوء معاملة من جانب الشرطة، فضلاً عن قلقها إزاء استغلال الفتيات القاصرات لأغراض جنسية تجارية(71).
