To that end, we propose the attached draft universal declaration of the rights of Mother Earth, which sets forth the following rights:

In December 2010, a new Law on the rights of Mother Earth was passed, granting her the following seven rights: the right to life and to exist; the right to not have cellular structure modified or genetically altered; the right to pure water; the right to clean air; the right to balance; the right to continue vital cycles and processes free from human alterations; and the right not to be polluted.
