Mr. Vázquez (Ecuador) said that his delegation was pleased to note that the Ad Hoc Committee had expressed general agreement on the need to strengthen the protection of the United Nations and associated personnel involved in any United Nations operation and had expressed general support for the Secretary-General's recommendation to include key provisions of the Convention in SOFAs, SOMAs and host country agreements.
