71. Brazil regretted that the resources made available to the United Nations Programme on Space Applications remained meagre, despite the efforts of the United Nations Expert on Space Applications and the Office for Outer Space Affairs.

In his report of 10 January 2000 to the Committee and its Scientific and Technical Subcommittee (A/AC.105/730), the Expert on Space Applications proposed the organization of a series of symposia to promote the participation of young people in space activities as part of the programme of workshops, training courses, symposia and conferences of the United Nations Programme on Space Applications for 2000-2002.
