The Department of General Assembly Affairs and Conference Services will be responsible for the technical secretariat servicing relating to the Decolonization Programme, as outlined in my letter of 17 March 1997.
وستتولى إدارة شؤون الجمعية العامة وخدمات المؤتمرات مسؤولية توفير خدمات اﻷمانة التقنية لبرنامج القضاء على الاستعمار، وذلك على النحو الوارد في رسالتي المؤرخة ٧١ آذار/مارس ٧٩٩١.

The strategy applied under the subprogramme will be focused on continuing to provide technical secretariat services and support to the Caribbean Development and Cooperation Committee, as a subsidiary body of ECLAC, in enhancing its relevance and role and in guiding its work in the region.

The percentage of end-users that expressed their dissatisfaction with the conduct of meetings and the level and quality of technical secretariat services remained at a very low level (1.4 per cent in 2006-2007 compared to 1 per cent in 2004-2005) in a period in which the Department extended its services to the Special Committee of 34 on peacekeeping operations and the Peacebuilding Commission.
ظلت النسبة المئوية للمستعملين النهائيين الذين أعربوا عن عدم رضاهم عن الطريقة التي تُجرى بها الاجتماعات وعن مستوى خدمات الأمانة التقنية وجودتها ضئيلة جدا (1.4 في المائة خلال الفترة 2006-2007 مقابل 1 في المائة خلال الفترة 2004-2005)، وذلك خلال فترة قدمت فيها الإدارة خدماتها للجنة الـ 34 الخاصة المعنية بعمليات حفظ السلام وللجنة بناء السلام.

The technical secretariat servicing responsibilities for the decolonization programme will be carried out by the Department of General Assembly Affairs and Conference Services as outlined in my letter of 17 March 1997 (A/51/829).
