بيد أن العمل جار على الصعيد الإقليمي بشأن مقترحات عملية لإنشاء مؤسسات وطنية لحقوق الإنسان في بلدان منطقة المحيط الهادئ في إطار الركن الخاص بالحكم الرشيد من ضمن أركان خطة منطقة المحيط الهادئ.

Algeria was encouraged by the initiative of the Pacific Plan to set up a regional human rights institution, which complies with Algeria's recommendations contained in recommendation 25 of the report of the Working Group.

Leaders also acknowledged his strong leadership as Secretary General that led to many major achievements, including the firm establishment of the Pacific Plan as the platform for ongoing, strengthened regional cooperation and integration for the benefit of the people of the Pacific and his role in enhancing the international standing of the Forum.
