34. Ms. Zou Xiaoqiao welcomed the efforts being made by the Government of Gabon to assume its responsibilities under the Convention, even though, as a developing country, Gabon faced special problems and challenges.

Ms. Zou Xiaoqiao, referring to the question of coordination among government ministries, asked whether the Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment had sole responsibility for implementing the Convention and recommendations of the Committee, and whether any government department had specific responsibility for gender equality.
40- السيدة زو خياوكياو: أشارت إلى مسألة التنسيق بين الوزارات الحكومية، فسألت إن كانت وزارة الشؤون الاجتماعية والعمل هي المسؤولة وحدها عن تنفيذ الاتفاقية وتوصيات اللجنة، وعما إذا كانت أي إدارة حكومية تتحمل مسؤولية محددة عن المساواة بين الجنسين.

29. Ms. Zou Xiaoqiao, noting that 78 per cent of the Samoan population lived in rural areas but that many had jobs in urban areas, asked what percentage of rural women and men were fully engaged in agricultural production.
