The most notable achievement in this regard during April was the effective assumption by the Transitional Darfur Regional Authority (TDRA) of its duties. This began with the official opening of the Authority's headquarters in Khartoum and Darfur, followed by a series of meetings of the Authority's institutions.

4. (1) The senior assistant to the President of the Republic and chairperson of the Transitional Darfur Regional Authority shall be the fourth-ranking person in the Office of the President.
