In the same resolution, the Assembly welcomed the Secretary-General's efforts to strengthen the system of evaluation and monitoring and requested him to submit a report clarifying his proposal for a single-stage intergovernmental review of the programme budget and medium-term plan for consideration at its resumed fifty-seventh session.

At its reconvened fifty-seventh session, the Commission on Narcotic Drugs adopted resolution 57/12, entitled " Implementation of the budget for the biennium 2014-2015 for the Fund of the United Nations International Drug Control Programme " , in which it approved the projected resources for that biennium for the Fund of the United Nations International Drug Control Programme.

The Controller has, however, indicated to the Board that, with regard to its recommendations on the Peacekeeping Reserve Fund and trust funds, accounts payable and contingent liabilities, those matters will all be presented to the General Assembly for its consideration at its resumed fifty-seventh session, as the collaboration of Member States is deemed to be necessary in all of those cases before further progress can be achieved.

Her delegation also hoped that the separate detailed report on the cost implications of providing more predictable and adequate conference services to the meetings of regional and other major groupings of Member States would be submitted to the General Assembly at the second part of its resumed fifty-seventh session for consideration by the Assembly in the context of its consideration of the proposed programme budget for the biennium 2004-2005.

8. In its resolution 56/243 A, the General Assembly, inter alia, requested the Secretary-General to propose or further consider measures to encourage Member States in arrears to reduce and eventually pay their arrears and to report thereon to the General Assembly during the main part of its fifty-seventh session for subsequent consideration at its resumed fifty-seventh session.
8 - وفي القرار 56/243 ألف، طلبت الجمعية العامة، في جملة أمور، إلى الأمين العام اقتراح مزيد من التدابير لتشجيع الدول الأعضاء التي عليها متأخرات على تقليص تلك المتأخرات وتسديدها في نهاية المطاف، أو النظر في اتخاذ تلك التدابير، وتقديم تقرير بهذا الشأن إلى الجمعية العامة خلال الجزء الرئيسي من دورتها السابعة والخمسين، لكي تنظر فيه لاحقا خلال دورتها السابعة والخمسين المستأنفة.

6. Following the informal meetings of the standing open-ended intergovernmental working group on improving the governance and financial situation of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), the co-chairs submitted the present statement for the consideration of the Commission on Narcotic Drugs at its reconvened fifty-seventh session and the Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice at its reconvened twenty-third session.
1- في أعقاب الاجتماعات غير الرسمية للفريق العامل الحكومي الدولي الدائم المفتوح العضوية المعني بتحسين حوكمة مكتب الأمم المتحدة المعني بالمخدِّرات والجريمة ووضعه المالي، قدَّم رئيسا الفريق هذا البيان لتنظر فيه لجنة المخدِّرات في دورتها السابعة والخمسين المستأنفة ولجنة منع الجريمة والعدالة الجنائية في دورتها الثالثة والعشرين المستأنفة.

The representative of Sri Lanka (on behalf of the Group of 77 and China) requested the Secretariat to provide the Commission, at its reconvened fifty-seventh session and at its subsequent reconvened sessions, detailed information regarding the staff composition of UNODC at its headquarters and field offices, on the basis of geographical distribution and including the nationalities of the staff.
