16. By note verbale No. GENC 011-115 of 6 August 1997 the Permanent Mission of Finland to the United Nations Office at Geneva replied to the Special Rapporteur's letter of 4 June 1997 as follows:
٦١ - وقدمت البعثة الدائمة لفنلندا لدى مكتب اﻷمم المتحدة في جنيف ردا على رسالة المقرر الخاص المؤرخة ٤ حزيران/يونيه ٧٩٩١ بمذكرة شفوية رقم GENC 011-115 مؤرخة ٦ آب/أغسطس ٧٩٩١، وأكدت فيها ما يلي:

255. On 29 October 1999, the Permanent Mission acknowledged receipt of the letter of the Special Rapporteur of 28 October 1999.
255- وفي 29 تشرين الأول/أكتوبر 1999، أرسلت البعثة الدائمة إشعارا باستلام رسالة المقرر الخاص المؤرخة 28 تشرين الأول/أكتوبر 1999.

The Government replied that the letter of the Special Rapporteur was replete with unfounded allegations intended to create an erroneous picture of alleged mass and systematic terror in Kosovo and Metohija.
