The Council heard a briefing by the Special Representative of the Secretary-General and Head of UNMIK, Lamberto Zannier, who said he considered the past four months as having been dynamic for Kosovo and UNMIK, with significant challenges and milestones.

4. While the Kosovo authorities maintain working contacts with my Special Representative, Lamberto Zannier, UNMIK faces ever-increasing challenges to its ability to fulfil its mandate envisaged in resolution 1244 (1999).
