At the global level, UNICEF will work to strengthen collaboration with such allies as, inter alia, Rotary International, Junior Chambers International (JCI), the NGO Group on Primary Health Care and the Christian Medical Commission/Pharmaceutical Advisory Group, to promote the expanded PHC focus.

In relation to Goal 5 (Improve Maternal Health), UNICEF will work with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), the World Health Organization (WHO) and other partners in countries with high maternal mortality in a well-defined supporting role, through joint programming and programmes in the context of the emerging global partnership for maternal, newborn and child health.
