UNICEF urged Suriname to submit its overdue combined third and fourth periodic report to that Committee.

It urged Suriname to take concrete measures to enhance and monitor access to health-care services for women, including in the interior and in rural areas.
وحثت سورينام على اتخاذ تدابير ملموسة لتعزيز ورصد حصول النساء على خدمات الرعاية الصحية، بما في ذلك في المناطق الداخلية والريفية.

Therefore, the Committee encourages the Government of Suriname to consider ratifying the treaties to which it is not yet a party, namely, the Convention against Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment and the International Convention on the Protection of the Rights of All Migrant Workers and Members of Their Families.
ولذا تشجع اللجنة حكومة سورينام على النظر في التصديق على المعاهدتين اللتين لم تصبح طرفا فيهما بعد، وهما اتفاقية مناهضة التعذيب وغيره من ضروب المعاملة أو العقوبة القاسية أو اللاإنسانية أو المهينة والاتفاقية الدولية لحماية حقوق جميع العمال المهاجرين وأفراد أسرهم.

48. Australia welcomed the establishment of the National Commission for the Eradication of Child Labour in 2009 and encouraged Suriname to take steps to ensure that the Commission could effectively carry out its mandate.

Furthermore, it was concerned about trafficking in persons to and from Suriname and urged Suriname to enhance efforts to identify and assist victims, increase awareness-raising efforts and offer foreign victims legal alternatives to deportation.

35. Malaysia congratulated Suriname on the broad-based approach in the preparatory process leading to its universal periodic review and noted that such inclusiveness would also be a part of the follow-up phase.
35- وهنأت ماليزيا سورينام على نهجها الواسع النطاق في العملية التحضيرية التي أفضت إلى استعراضها الدوري الشامل، وأشارت إلى أن هذا النهج الشامل سيشكل جزءاً أيضاً من مرحلة المتابعة.

499. Algeria congratulated Suriname on its acceptance of the majority of the recommendations made during its universal periodic review, noting that more than 71 per cent of them had been accepted.
499- هنّأت الجزائر سورينام على قبولها معظم التوصيات المقدمة أثناء الاستعراض الدوري الشامل، منوهةً إلى أن أكثر من 71 في المائة من تلك التوصيات قد حظيت بالقبول.

506. The Government of Suriname was planning to update its human rights agenda, primarily on the basis of the recommendations accepted.

Various civil society organizations and the University of Suriname are developing programmes focused on creating the necessary infrastructure and ICT networks.
