In the build-up to the World Summit on Sustainable Development, regional conferences on sustainable development were held in cooperation with United Nations agencies, in particular the United Nations Environment Programme.

In this context, the Commission invites these organizations, in particular UNEP, the World Bank and the regional development banks, to undertake joint efforts aimed at helping all countries, particularly developing countries and countries with economies in transition, to benefit mutually from existing experiences with sustainable industrial development approaches and to adapt these approaches to domestic circumstances;
وفي هذا السياق تدعو اللجنة هذه المنظمات، ولا سيما برنامج اﻷمم المتحدة للبيئة والبنك الدولي والمصارف الانمائية اﻹقليمية، الى بذل جهود مشتركة بهدف مساعدة جميع البلدان، وبخاصة البلدان النامية والبلدان التي تمر اقتصاداتها بمرحلة انتقالية، على تبادل الاستفادة من الموجود من الخبرات بنهج التنمية الصناعية المستدامة وتكييف تلك النهج مع الظروف المحلية؛

Particular interest was shown in UNHCR's cooperation with donors and other relevant agencies, in particular the United Nations Environmental Programme (UNEP).
