The Security Council further recalls that, in accordance with articles 99 and 35 of the Charter, the Secretary General or any Member State may bring to the attention of the Council any matter which is likely to endanger the maintenance of international peace and security.
ويشير مجلس الأمن كذلك إلى أنه، وفقا للمادتين 99 و 35 من الميثاق، يجوز للأمين العام أو أي دولة عضو توجيه انتباه المجلس إلى أي مسألة قد تعرّض صون السلام والأمن الدوليين للخطر.

وفيما يتعلق بتسوية المنازعات بالطرق السلمية، فإن الفصل السادس من الميثاق يطلب من أطراف أي نزاع من شأن استمراره أن يعرض صون السلام والأمن الدوليين للخطر التماس حل بالوسائل السلمية التي يقع عليها اختيارها.

Noting with appreciation the work done by the Special Committee to encourage States to focus on the need to prevent and to settle peacefully their disputes which are likely to endanger the maintenance of international peace and security,
وإذ تلاحظ مع التقدير العمل الذي أنجزته اللجنة الخاصة لتشجيع الدول على التركيز على ضرورة منع ما ينشأ فيما بينها من منازعات يمكن أن تعرض صون السلام والأمن الدوليين للخطر وعلى ضرورة تسوية هذه المنازعات بالوسائل السلمية،

The Council recalls Articles 33 and 34 of the Charter and reaffirms its commitment to the settlement of disputes by peaceful means and the promotion of necessary preventive action in response to disputes or situations, the continuation of which is likely to endanger the maintenance of international peace and security.
ويشير المجلس إلى المادتين 33 و 34 من الميثاق، ويؤكد من جديد التزامه بتسوية المنازعات بالوسائل السلمية وتعزيز الإجراءات الوقائية اللازمة للتصدي للمنازعات أو الحالات التي من المرجح أن يؤدي استمرارها إلى تعريض صون السلام والأمن الدوليين للخطر.
