75. The SBI initiated its consideration of Modalities for expediting the continued issuance, transfer and acquisition of joint implementation emission reduction units, in accordance with decision 1/CMP.8, paragraph 16.

79. The SBI initiated its consideration of Modalities for expediting the establishment of eligibility for Annex I Parties with commitments for the second commitment period whose eligibility has not yet been established, in accordance with decision 1/CMP.8, paragraph 16.

50. At the same meeting, the CMP adopted decision 7/CMP.9, entitled " Modalities for expediting the establishment of eligibility for Parties included in Annex I with commitments for the second commitment period whose eligibility has not yet been established " .

However, Parties agreed at CMP 8 to consider Modalities for expediting the continued issuance, transfer and acquisition of ERUs, with a decision on that matter expected to be taken at CMP 9.

49. CMP 8 requested the SBI to consider Modalities for expediting the continued issuance, transfer and acquisition of ERUs under Article 6 of the Kyoto Protocol for the second commitment period.

49. With regard to SBI agenda sub-item 7(d), entitled " Modalities for expediting the establishment of eligibility for Parties included in Annex I to the Convention with commitments for the second commitment period whose eligibility has not yet been established " , SBI 39 forwarded a draft decision for further consideration by the CMP.
