Abdelkader Bensmail began his career in the Algerian diplomatic service and served his country with distinction.
لقد بدأ السيد عبد القادر بن اسماعيل حياته المهنية في السلك الدبلوماسي الجزائري وأدى لبلده خدمات جليلة.

Abdelkader Bensmail has always acted in a manner both effective and discreet.
وقد عمل السيد عبد القادر بن اسماعيل على الدوام بشكل فعال ومتسم بالتكتم.

In a similar vein the continuing contributions of Under—Secretary—General Mr. Vladimir Petrovsky and his deputy, Mr. Abdelkader Bensmail, are worthy of praise.

كما أود أيضا أن أنتهز هذه الفرصة ﻷرحب بالسيد فلاديمير بتروفسكي بصفته امينا عاما لهذا المؤتمر وبالسيد عبد القادر بن اسماعيل بصفته أمينا عاما مساعدا.

I take this opportunity to address our greetings to our new Secretary-General of the Conference and Personal Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Mr. Vladimir Petrovsky, and the new Deputy Secretary-General, Mr. Abdelkader Bensmail, as well as the members of their secretariat.

We are very pleased to see the new Deputy Secretary-General, Mr. Abdelkader Bensmail, whose competence and devotion to the work of the Conference on Disarmament is very well known to all of us present here.

As we bid farewell to Mr. Abdelkader Bensmail, we wish him every success in the years ahead, long health and prosperity, as well as personal happiness.
وبما أننا نودع السيد عبد القادر بن اسماعيل فنحــن نتمنى له النجاح في السنوات المقبلة والصحة الجيدة والازدهار والسعادة الشخصية.

It is my honour and my privilege to pay tribute, on behalf of all the members of this Conference, to the Deputy SecretaryGeneral, Mr. Abdelkader Bensmail, who will be retiring later this year.
ولي الشرف والامتياز أن أشيد، بالنيابة عن جميع أعضاء هذا المؤتمر، بخصال نائب الأمين العام السيد عبد القادر بن اسماعيل الذي سيتقاعد أواخر هذه السنة.
