304. The Committee recommended a comprehensive review of legislation on the matter of juvenile justice in the light of the Convention and international standards. In response to that recommendation, the following remarks are in order:

At its twenty-eighth session the Committee decided, at the request of one of its members, to hold a discussion on the situation in the Occupied Palestinian Territory in the light of the Convention.

The State party is of the view that, although article 17 of the Optional Protocol prohibits reservations to the Optional Protocol, its article 2 must be read in the light of the Convention as ratified by the State party, i.e., with the reservations and declarations entered by the State party.

Burkina Faso passed the Law on the protection and promotion of disability rights; Cameroon passed the Law on the protection and promotion of persons with disabilities; and Slovenia adopted the Act on equal opportunities for persons with disabilities in the light of the Convention and the Millennium Development Goals.
وأقرت بوركينا فاسو القانون المتعلق بحماية وتعزيز حقوق المعوقين؛ وأقرت الكاميرون القانون المتعلق بحماية وتعزيز حقوق الأشخاص ذوي الإعاقة؛ واعتمدت سلوفينيا القانون المتعلق بتكافؤ الفرص للأشخاص ذوي الإعاقة، وذلك على ضوء الاتفاقية والأهداف الإنمائية للألفية.

(a) Reviews of existing desertification control programmes, projects and activities at the regional level, with a view to harmonizing them in the light of the Convention and seeking convergence in the process of elaborating and implementing the RAPs;
(أ) النظر في البرامج، والمشاريع والأنشطة الحالية لمكافحة التصحر على الصعيد الإقليمي بغية المواءمة بينها على ضوء الاتفاقية والبحث عن توافق في عملية صياغة برامج العمل الإقليمي وتنفيذها؛

(c) Ensure that the Convention and the Committee's general recommendations are made an integral part of training programmes for lawyers, judges, prosecutors, police officers and other law enforcement officials, with a view to enabling them to apply the provisions of the Convention directly and interpret national legal provisions in the light of the Convention.
(ج) كفالة أن تصبح الاتفاقية والتوصيات العامة الصادرة عن اللجنة جزءاً لا يتجزأ من برامج تدريب المحامين والقضاة والمدعين العامين وضباط الشرطة وغيرهم من مسؤولي إنفاذ القانون، بغية تمكينهم من تطبيق أحكام الاتفاقية مباشرةً، وتفسير الأحكام القانونية الوطنية على ضوء الاتفاقية.

60. The Committee reiterates its previous recommendations (CRC/C/15/Add.21): The State party should undertake a comprehensive review of legislation in the light of the Convention and international standards such as the Beijing Rules, the Riyadh Guidelines and the United Nations Rules for the Protection of Juveniles Deprived of their Liberty and the Vienna Guidelines for Action on Children in the Criminal Justice System.
60- تكرر اللجنة توصياتها السابقة (CRC/C/15/Add.21) وهي التالية: ينبغي للدولة الطرف إجراء مراجعة شاملة للتشريعات على ضوء الاتفاقية والمعايير الدولية، مثل قواعد بكين، ومبادئ الرياض التوجيهية، وقواعد الأمم المتحدة لحماية الأحداث المحرومين من حريتهم، ومبادئ فيينا التوجيهية للعمل من أجل الأطفال في النظام القضائي الجنائي.
