وما يشغل بال المنتدى هو أن ما لم تؤخذ الحالة الخاصة التي تعيشها الشعوب الأصلية في الاعتبار الواجب، فيمكنٍ أن تؤدي بعض عمليات الأهداف الإنمائية للألفية إلى تسارع فقدان هذه الشعوب لأراضيها ومواردها الطبيعية، ومن ثم فقدانها لسبل رزقها ثم تشردها، فضلا عن تسارع خطى دمج ثقافتها في المجتمع المهيمن واضمحلالها.

The General Assembly has reiterated the commitment of the international community to promote the inclusion of disability in the Millennium Development Goals processes, as well as in other internationally agreed development goals for persons with disabilities (Assembly resolutions 60/131, 62/127, 63/150, 64/131 and 65/186).
