II. The work of the University: issues and challenges
الثاني - عمل الجامعة: القضايا والتحديات

The European Union reiterated its support for UNU and the importance that it attached to the work of the University through its Tokyo headquarters and its regional centres and programmes, some of which were in countries members of the European Union.
وقال إن الاتحاد اﻷوروبي يكرر اﻹعراب عن تأييده لجامعة اﻷمم المتحدة وعن اﻷهمية التي يعلقها عن عمل الجامعة من خلال مقرها في طوكيو ومراكزها وبرامجها اﻹقليمية، التي يوجد بعضها في بلدان أعضاء في الاتحاد اﻷوروبي.

11. The present annual report of the United Nations University for 1993 continues the approach and style of the 1992 report in attempting to focus attention on the work of the University at the level of issues to help the reader discern more clearly how its various components converge.
١١ - وهذا التقرير السنوي لجامعة اﻷمم المتحدة لعام ١٩٩٣ يواصل النهج واﻷسلوب اللذين اتبعا في تقرير عام ١٩٩٢ في محاولة لتركيز الانتباه على عمل الجامعة على مستوى القضايا، ومن أجل مساعدة القارئ على أن يتبين بصورة أوضح كيف تتلاقى عناصرها المختلفة.

The results of the University's work are disseminated through high-level panels, conferences, workshops, books, journals, newsletters and the Internet.

Within these broad thematic areas, the strategic plan for 2000 identified five areas that affect human security and development in which to group UNU work: peace; governance; development; science, technology and society; and environment.

15. Decides that, instead of being submitted in 2008, the report of the Council of the United Nations University and other reports on the work of the University shall be submitted biennially to the Economic and Social Council, rather than to the General Assembly for its consideration, beginning in 2009.
15 - تقرر أن يُقدَّم تقرير مجلس جامعة الأمم المتحدة وغيره من التقارير عن عمل الجامعة مرة كل سنتين، عوضا عن تقديمها في عام 2008، وأن تُقدم إلى المجلس الاقتصادي والاجتماعي للنظر فيها عوضا عن تقديمها إلى الجمعية العامة، وذلك اعتبارا من عام 2009.
