It had held a seminar on international trade law sponsored by the United Nations with the support of the UNCITRAL secretariat and was engaged in the preparation of legislative bills based on UNCITRAL model laws in areas covered by four of the Commission's Working Groups, namely security interests, electronic commerce, arbitration and insolvency.

15. At the request of CARICOM, the United Nations Commission on international trade law (UNCITRAL) held a regional seminar on international trade law in Barbados from 23 to 26 April 1996 which was attended by approximately 70 persons.
١٥ - بناء على طلب الجماعة الكاريبية، عقدت لجنة اﻷمم المتحدة للقانون التجاري الدولي حلقة دراسية إقليمية عن القانون التجاري الدولي في بربادوس في الفترة من ٢٣ إلى ٢٦ نيسان/أبريل ١٩٩٦ حضرها ٧٠ شخصا تقريبا.

6.86 The objective of the subprogramme is (a) to develop texts that facilitate international trade, assist in negotiating transactions and foster good practices; (b) to provide legislative assistance to Governments; (c) to coordinate work of international organizations active in the field of trade law; and (d) to promote uniform interpretation of harmonized texts on international trade law.
٦-٨٦ وهدف هذا البرنامج الفرعي هو )أ( وضع نصوص تسهل التجارة الدولية، وتساعد في التفاوض على المعاملات وتشجع الممارسات الجيدة؛ )ب( وتقديم مساعدة تشريعية للحكومات؛ )ج( وتنسيق عمل المنظمات الدولية النشطة في ميدان القانون التجاري؛ )د( وترويج تفسير متسق لنصوص منسقة عن القانون التجاري الدولي.
