At its sixty-sixth session, the General Assembly decided to defer consideration of post-related recosting for inflation and exchange rate projections to the first performance report on the budget for the biennium 2012-2013, in order to ensure appropriation of post-related costs in line with actual expenditure experience (resolution 66/246).

Mr. Dettling (Switzerland), speaking also on behalf of Liechtenstein, said that by deferring consideration of post-related recosting for inflation and exchange rate projections to the first performance report on the budget for the biennium 2012-2013, the General Assembly had deviated from established procedures for the first time since the adoption of its resolution 41/213.

In its report on the biennial budget of ITC for 2006-2007 (A/60/7/Add.16, para. 12), the Committee requested that information on further efforts made and progress achieved in harmonization should be reported in the context of the next budget submission, along with an evaluation of how the new procedures are working and have simplified and streamlined the budget presentation procedures.
