ويمكن أن يحصل هذا القيام في إطار القضية الجزائية نفسها التي يتم فيها تتبع مرتكب الجريمة عن طريق القيام بالحق الشخصي أو عن طريق القيام بقضية مدنيّة مستقلة في غرم الضرر.

Article 7 of the Code of Criminal Procedure provides that anyone who suffers a personal injury as the direct result of an offence may bring a civil action. A civil action may be brought concurrently with the public action or separately before a civil court.
