Statement by Mr. Theo-Ben Gurirab, President of the General Assembly at its twenty-fourth special session

I would, at the outset, like to congratulate Mr. Gurirab warmly on his election to the presidency of the General Assembly at its fifty-fourth session.
أود في البداية أن أهنئ بحرارة السيد غوريراب لانتخابه رئيسا للجمعية العامة في دورتها الرابعة والخمسين.

The rich experience and leadership Mr. Gurirab brings to the presidency ensure the session’s success.
إن الخبرة الثرية والقيادة التي يضفيها السيد غوريراب على الرئاسة تكفلان نجاح الدورة.

I therefore have the pleasant duty of congratulating Mr. Gurirab on his election to the presidency of the fifty-fourth session of the General Assembly.

I extend to Mr. Theo Ben Gurirab my personal congratulations, and those of the Tribunal, on his election as the President of the General Assembly.

My delegation would also like to extend its recognition to Mr. Theo-Ben Gurirab for his outstanding work as President of the Assembly at the session that has just concluded.
