Algeria recalls that this important resolution was adopted in the context of a comprehensive agreement for collective support by Arab countries for the indefinite extension of the Treaty.

وأخيرا، أعرب عن دهشة وفده ومعارضته لﻹيحاء بأن فريق الشخصيات المرموقة الذي دعته الحكومة لزيارة الجزائر ذكر ضرورة توسيع نطاق هذا التعاون ليشمل أجزاء من آليات اﻷمم المتحدة لحقوق اﻹنسان: فالجزائر تربطها أصلا علاقات مع هذه اﻵليات ولم تكن بحاجة الى نصيحة من كندا أو أي بلد آخر قبل إقامة هذه العلاقات.

Like the G-21, Algeria welcomes the initiative by China and the Russian Federation on the prevention of the placement of weapons in outer space and the threat or use of force against outer space objects.
وعلى غرار مجموعة اﻟ 21، فالجزائر ترحب بالمبادرة الصينية - الروسية الخاصة بالوقاية من وضع الأسلحة في الفضاء الخارجي والتهديد باستعمال القوة أو استعمالها ضد الأجسام الموجودة في الفضاء الخارجي.

16. Algeria is therefore convinced that, in order to be credible and to act as a deterrent, security assurances for non-nuclear-weapon States against the use or threat of use of nuclear weapons should be codified in a universal, legally binding instrument.
16 - لذا، فالجزائر مقتنعة بأنه لكي تكون الضمانات الأمنية من استخدام الأسلحة النووية أو التهديد باستخدامها الممنوحة للدول غير الحائزة للأسلحة النووية ذات مصداقية ورادعة، ينبغي أن تُدوَّن في صك عالمي ملزم قانوناً.

34. Mr. Dkhil (Legislative and Human Rights Commission of the Moroccan Chamber of Councillors) said that he wished to ask a simple question: who were the parties to the dispute over Sahara? Algeria claimed that it had no interest in Moroccan Sahara, yet revealed an obsession with it throughout its State and diplomatic structures.
34 - السيد الدخيل (لجنة التشريع وحقوق الإنسان في مجلس المستشارين المغربي): قال إنه يود أن يطرح سؤالا بسيطاً هو كالتالي: ما هي أطراف النزاع على الصحراء؟ فالجزائر تدّعي أنه ليس لها أي مصلحة في الصحراء المغربية، ولكنها تكشف عن أن هياكلها الحكومية والديبلوماسية مهووسة بهذه الصحراء.

47. Mr. Machin (University Las Palmas de Gran Canaria) said that, despite the two Baker Plans of 2001 and 2003, the situation in Western Sahara continued to be deadlocked because the root of the problem had not been addressed: Algeria and Morocco, both Member States of the United Nations and of the Arab Maghreb Union, should sit together at the negotiating table and work out a framework of action.
