464. The basis for benefit with regard to an insured person who has not received a salary during the period of absence from work is the average monthly amount of pay in the period of insurance prior to the start of absence from work.

If the insurance period is shorter, the pension is proportionately reduced.
فإذا كانت فترة التأمين أقل من ذلك، انخفض المعاش التقاعدي بالنسبة والتناسب.

Historically, the Secretary-General has been authorized by the General Assembly to advance from the Fund such sums as may be necessary to finance unforeseen and extraordinary expenses pending appropriation action by the Assembly; finance payments of advance insurance premiums where the period of insurance extends beyond the end of the biennium in which payment is made; and finance miscellaneous self-liquidating activities.
