24. The United Nations system task force on transnational organized crime and drug trafficking was established in March 2011, inter alia, to develop a coherent and multilateral approach to mitigating the impact of transnational threats on national dynamics.

(z) Enhance cooperation with the Peacebuilding Commission, as well as among United Nations peacekeeping operations and special political missions in the region, under the framework of the United Nations system task force on transnational organized crime;

In May 2012, UNAMA and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime established the United Nations system task force on Transnational Organized Crime and Drug Trafficking as Threats to Security and Stability to enhance inter-agency cooperation on organized crime.
