The present report is submitted pursuant to paragraph 12 of General Assembly resolution 57/113 A and paragraph 23 of resolution 57/113 B of 6 December 2002, in which the Assembly requested the Secretary-General to submit to it, at its fifty-eighth session, a report on progress made in the implementation of those resolutions.
1 - يقدم هذا التقرير عملا بالفقرة 12 من قرار الجمعية العامة 57/113 ألف والفقرة 23 من القرار 57/113 باء المؤرخ 6 كانون الأول/ديسمبر 2002، اللتين طلبت فيهما الجمعية العامة إلى الأمين العام أن يقدم إليها، في دورتها الثامنة والخمسين، تقريرا عن التقدم المحرز في تنفيذ هذين القرارين.

The report has been prepared in accordance with General Assembly resolutions 49/128 and 50/124, in which the Assembly called for the preparation of periodic reports on the flow of financial resources to assist in the implementation of the Programme of Action.

In this connection, the Committee cites General Assembly resolutions 61/148 and 63/243, in which the General Assembly strongly urged States parties to accelerate their domestic ratification procedures with regard to the amendment to the Convention concerning the financing of the Committee and to notify the Secretary-General expeditiously in writing of their agreement to the amendment.
وتشير اللجنة، في هذا الصدد، إلى قراري الجمعية العامة 61/148 و63/243، اللذين حثت فيهما الجمعية العامة بقوة الدول الأطراف على التعجيل باتخاذ إجراءاتها الداخلية للتصديق على التعديل المُدخل على الاتفاقية فيما يتعلق بتمويل اللجنة وإخطار الأمين العام كتابةً، وفي أسرع وقت ممكن، بموافقتها على هذا التعديل.

The following is a response to the request of the Office for Disarmament Affairs for the views of the Government of the Norway on the issues covered by the resolution and to paragraphs 7 and 9 of the resolution, in which the Assembly invites all States to, respectively, render their assistance and consider appropriate means in the establishment of the zone.
