The Committee recommended that the General Assembly recognize the efforts made by CEB to achieve coordination in the United Nations system and requested the Secretary-General, in his capacity as Chairman of CEB, to enhance the role of the United Nations system, within existing mandates provided by Member States to United Nations system organizations, in dealing with the world financial and economic crisis and its impact on development.
