2. Accordingly, the Secretary—General established, in 1993, within the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), the focal point responsibility on the subject.

Recalling further General Assembly resolution 55/185, which called upon the Secretary-General to strengthen the Commission and its secretariat within the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development by providing it with the necessary resources to enable it to carry out its mandate of assisting the developing countries with their national development efforts in the field of science and technology in an optimal manner.
وإذ يشير كذلك إلى قرار الجمعية العامة 55/185، الذي يدعو الأمين العام إلى تعزيز اللجنة وأمانتها في إطار مؤتمر الأمم المتحدة للتجارة والتنمية، بتزويدها بالموارد اللازمة لتمكينها من الاضطلاع بولايتها المتمثلة في مساعدة البلدان النامية في جهودها الإنمائية الوطنية في ميدان العلم والتكنولوجيا، وذلك بطريقة اختيارية.

The Council, in its resolution 2001/32, also recommended that a special trust fund for activities in the area of science and technology for development be established within the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development, with a view to assisting in implementing various mandates received or to be received by the Conference in the area of science and technology for development.
كما أوصى المجلس، في قراره 2001/32، بإنشاء صندوق استئماني خاص بالأنشطة المضطلع بها في مجال تسخير العلم والتكنولوجيا لأغراض التنمية، في إطار مؤتمر الأمم المتحدة للتجارة والتنمية، بغية المساعدة في تنفيذ الولايات المختلفة الموكلة، أو التي ستؤكل، إلى المؤتمر في مجال تسخير العلم والتكنولوجيا لأغراض التنمية.

In that context, they requested the re-establishment of the programme on Africa within the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) so that a specific programme on Africa would be in place to carry out any new strategy or plan which the United Nations might adopt to succeed the United Nations New Agenda for the Development of Africa in the 1990s.

A. The United Nations 5. Member States meeting at the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development, held in Rio de Janeiro in 1992, adopted the Rio Declaration on Environment and Development and Agenda 21.

6. Solutions to the global economic crisis and the definition of new international financial architecture must be adopted with the participation of the 192 countries that will gather at the United Nations Conference at the Highest Level on the World Financial and Economic Crisis and Its Impact on Development, to be held from 1 to 3 June, to propose the creation of a new international economic order.
6 - ويتعين اعتماد حلول الأزمة الاقتصادية العالمية وتحديد الهيكل المالي الدولي الجديد بمشاركةٍ من المائة واثنين وتسعين بلدا التي ستجتمع، في الفترة من 1 إلى 3 حزيران/يونيه، في إطار مؤتمر الأمم المتحدة المعني بالأزمة المالية الدولية، من أجل اقتراح إنشاء نظام اقتصادي دولي جديد.

61. On 8 August 2014, the Intergovernmental Committee of Experts on Sustainable Development Financing, established at the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development, held in 2012 in Rio de Janeiro, adopted its report proposing options on an effective sustainable development financing strategy to facilitate the mobilization of resources and their effective use in achieving sustainable development objectives.
61 - وفي 8 آب/أغسطس 2014، اعتمدت لجنة الخبراء الحكومية الدولية المعنية بتمويل التنمية المستدامة، المُنشأة في إطار مؤتمر الأمم المتحدة للتنمية المستدامة، المعقود في عام 2012، في ريو دي جانيرو، تقريرها الذي تقترح فيه خيارات بشأن وضع استراتيجية فعالة لتمويل التنمية المستدامة تُيسِّر تعبئة الموارد واستخدامها على نحو فعال في تحقيق أهداف التنمية المستدامة.

The presentation affirmed the Committee's dedication and resolve to continue contributing to and working within the framework of the United Nations Regional Cartographic Conferences for Asia and the Pacific and sincere thanks were extended to all the parties concerned who had made possible the Committee's excellent outcomes of the past three years.
