V. Policy conclusions 43. The Monterrey Consensus confirmed the continuing relevance of the policy proposals made regarding the resolution of the debt problems of developing countries in the two previous reports of the Secretary-General (A/55/422 and A/56/262).

A review of communications received in the last year demonstrate clearly that the trends noted in the two previous reports (E/CN.4/2000/63 and E/CN.4/2001/64) have continued.
