At the high-level meeting of the General Assembly on biodiversity, held on 22 September 2011 as a contribution to the International Year of Biodiversity, concern continued to be expressed, in particular, about the impacts on marine biodiversity of ocean acidification, invasive alien species, overexploitation of resources, pollution and climate change, including coral bleaching.
