The Committee remains concerned, however, about the persistent underrepresentation of women, in particular women belonging to minority communities, at decision-making levels in political and public life and in the private sector.

26. The Committee recommends that the State party undertake measures to progressively increase the number of women in decision-making positions, in accordance with its general recommendation 23 on women in political and public life and in the foreign service.
26 - وتوصي اللجنة بأن تتخذ الدولة الطرف تدابير لزيادة عدد النساء في مناصب اتخاذ القرار على نحو مطرد، وذلك وفق توصيتها العامة 23 بشأن المرأة في الحياة السياسية والعامة وفي الخدمة الخارجية.

202. The Committee recommends that the State party undertake measures to progressively increase the number of women in decision-making positions, in accordance with its general recommendation 23 on women in political and public life and in the foreign service.
202 - وتوصي اللجنة بأن تتخذ الدولة الطرف تدابير لزيادة عدد النساء في مناصب اتخاذ القرار على نحو مطرد، وذلك وفق توصيتها العامة 23 بشأن المرأة في الحياة السياسية والعامة وفي الخدمة الخارجية.

The Committee also urges the State party to implement temporary special measures, including quotas, in accordance with article 4, paragraph 1, of the Convention and the Committee's general recommendation 25 and to establish concrete goals and timetables to increase the number of women in political and public life and in decision-making positions.
وتحث اللجنة أيضا الدولة الطرف على تنفيذ تدابير خاصة مؤقتة، بما في ذلك نظام الحصص، وفقا للفقرة 1 من المادة 4 من الاتفاقية وتوصية اللجنة العامة 25 وتحديد أهداف ملموسة ووضع جداول زمنية لزيادة عدد النساء في الحياة السياسية والعامة وفي مناصب اتخاذ القرارات.

8. Dr. Al-Usaimi (Saudi Arabia) reassured the Committee that women would gradually play a greater role in political and public life and in international organizations.
