With reference to awareness-raising activities on the importance of women's participation in political and public life in Zanzibar, it is noted that awareness-raising activities on women's participation in decision-making are usually targeted at women candidates and periodically executed in relation to national elections.

In the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, the Office organized with the Council of Europe in June 2002 a workshop on " Strategies for the Promotion of Women's Participation in political and public life " , which considered gender mainstreaming methodologies to promote gender equality and combat poverty among women.
وفي جمهورية مقدونيا اليوغوسلافية السابقة، نظمت المفوضية بالتعاون مع مجلس أوروبا في حزيران/يونيه 2002 حلقة عمل بشأن " استراتيجيات تعزيز مشاركة المرأة في الحياة السياسية وفي الحياة العامة " ، بحثت في منهجيات تعميم الجنسانية بغية تعزيز المساواة بين الجنسين ومحاربة الفقر المتفشي بين النساء.

(b) Provide training on gender equality to politicians, journalists and decision-makers, especially men, to enhance the understanding that full, equal, free and democratic participation of women and men in political and public life is a requirement for the full implementation of the Convention;
(ب) إتاحة التدريب على المساواة بين الجنسين للسياسيين والصحفيين وصانعي القرارات، ولا سيما الرجال، بهدف تعزيز الفهم القائل بأن مشاركة النساء والرجال في الحياة السياسية وفي الحياة العامة مشاركة كاملة ومتساوية وحرة وديمقراطية شرط من شروط تنفيذ الاتفاقية تنفيذاً كاملاً؛

(c) To provide training on gender equality for politicians, journalists, teachers and community leaders, especially men, to enhance the understanding that full, equal, free and democratic participation of women on an equal basis with men in political and public life is a requirement for the full implementation of the Convention.
(ج) إتاحة التدريب في موضوع المساواة بين الجنسين للسياسيين والصحفيين والمدرسين وقادة المجتمعات المحلية، ولا سيما الرجال، بهدف تعزيز الفكرة القائلة بأن مشاركة النساء والرجال في الحياة السياسية وفي الحياة العامة مشاركة كاملة ومتساوية وحرة وديمقراطية شرط من شروط تنفيذ الاتفاقية تنفيذاً كاملاً.

(b) Provide training on gender equality to civil servants and politicians, especially men, with a view to enhancing the understanding that full and equal participation of women and men in political and public life is a requirement for the full implementation of the Convention, and thus creating a more favourable environment for women's participation in political and public life.
(ب) توفير التدريب في مجال المساواة بين الجنسين لموظفي الخدمة العمومية والسياسيين، ولا سيما الرجال، بغية تعزيز فهم أن المشاركة الكاملة والمتساوية بين الرجل والمرأة في الحياة السياسية وفي الحياة العامة هو شرط أساسي للتنفيذ الكامل للاتفاقية، ومن ثم إشاعة بيئة أكثر ملاءمة لمشاركة المرأة في الحياة السياسية وفي الحياة العامة.
