The Statistics Division was requested by the Statistical Commission at its thirty-fourth session in 2003 to produce a handbook on the collection and compilation of international migration statistics as a practical guide on how the above-mentioned recommendations could be implemented.6

Western Asia (ESCWA) 19. The Inspectors note that the three main recommendations contained in the report on ESCWA were endorsed by the Commission at its seventeenth session held at Amman in May 1994, and that ESCWA's revised work programme was also, according to OIOS, endorsed by the Committee for Programme and Coordination at its thirty-fourth session in 1994.

The Commission requested the Working Group to proceed with its work expeditiously so as to finalise the draft convention and submit it for final adoption by the Commission at its thirty-fourth session in 2001. The Commission also requested the Secretariat to prepare and distribute a revised version of the commentary on the draft convention after the Working Group had completed its work.

Civil society organizations/NGOs will submit to the CFS Bureau a proposal regarding how they intend to organize their participation in the CFS in a way that ensures broad and balanced participation by regions and types of organizations keeping in mind the principles approved by the CFS at its thirty-fourth session in October 2008 (CFS: 2008/5; CL 135/10: paragraph 15).
