8. Reiterates its call, in welcoming the ban on prospecting and mining in and around Antarctica for the next fifty years by Antarctic Treaty Consultative Parties in accordance with the Madrid Protocol for the ban to be made permanent;
٨ - تكرر دعوتها، لدى الترحيب بفرض حظر على التنقيب والتعدين في انتاركتيكا وفيما حولها طوال الخمسين عاما المقبلة من قبل اﻷطراف الاستشارية في معاهدة انتاركتيكا وفقا لبروتوكول مدريد الى جعل هذا الحظر حظرا دائما؛

11. Encourages the Antarctic Treaty Consultative Parties to increase the level of cooperation and collaboration with a view to reducing the number of scientific stations in Antarctica and to handle tourism effectively through transparent environmental impact assessment studies;
١١ - تشجع اﻷطراف الاستشارية في معاهدة انتاركتيكا على زيادة مستوى تعاونها وتآزرها بغية خفض عدد المحطات العلمية في انتاركتيكا؛ وإدارة السياحة على نحو فعال عن طريق إجراء دراسات شفافة لتقييم اﻷثر البيئي؛

An active participant in the Antarctic Treaty system, Australia encouraged remaining Antarctic Treaty consultative parties to ratify the Madrid Protocol on Environmental Protection to the Antarctic Treaty at the earliest possible date.
وأستراليا بوصفها مشتركا فعليا في نظام معاهدة انتاركتيكا، تشجع بقية اﻷطراف الاستشاريين في معاهدة انتاركتيكا على التصديق على بروتوكول المعاهدة المعروف ببروتوكول مدريد المتعلق بالحماية البيئية في أقرب موعد ممكن.

It was regrettable that the Antarctic Treaty Consultative Parties had never invited the Secretary-General to their meetings, because that would enable the international community to play a part in drafting the convention designed to turn Antarctica into a nature reserve or a world park.
وأعرب عن أسفه في هذا الصدد ﻷن اﻷطراف الاستشارية في معاهدة انتاركتيكا لم تدع اﻷمين العام للمشاركة في اجتماعاتها ﻷن من شأن توجيه مثل هذه الدعوة أن تسمح للمجتمع الدولي بالمساهمة في وضع اتفاقية تجعل من انتاركتيكا منطقة طبيعية محمية أو متنزه عالمي.

29. Her delegation applauded the efforts of the Antarctic Treaty Consultative Parties aimed at protecting and preserving that continent and its ecosystems for peaceful purposes and promoting international scientific cooperation.
٢٩ - وقالت إن وفدها يشيد بالجهود التي تبذلها اﻷطراف في معاهدة انتاركتيكا لحماية هذه القارة ونظمها اﻹيكولوجية والمحافظة عليها لﻷغراض السلمية وتشجيع التعاون العلمي الدولي.

Not only has there been discrimination between the States Parties to the Antarctic Treaty and its Consultative Parties, but most of the members of the international community have been excluded from any involvement with Antarctica, even though this is vital for its survival.
ولم يكن هناك تمييز فيما بين الدول اﻷطراف في معاهدة انتاركتيكا وأطرافها الاستشارية فحسب بل إن معظم أعضاء المجتمع الدولي قد استبعدوا كذلك من كل مشاركة في انتاركتيكا، بالرغم مما لمشاركتهم من أهمية حيوية لبقائها.

4. On 22 September 1994, the Secretary General received the following reply from the Permanent Representative of Japan to the United Nations, responding on behalf of the States Parties to the Antarctic Treaty:
