5. At the invitation of the Government of Cameroon, the Secretary-General was represented by Ibrahima Fall, Assistant Secretary-General, Department of Political Affairs, at the summit of Heads of State and Government of the countries of Central Africa held in Yaoundé on 25 and 26 February 1999.

That is the path charted by the first ladies of Africa, who, upon the invitation of Mrs. Chantal Biya, will meet in Yaoundé on 15 and 16 November to establish and launch, with the help of renowned researchers and scientists, a non-governmental organization called Synergies africaines contre le Sida et les autres souffrances.

In November 2011, the United Nations assisted an independent expert team in determining the boundary in the Mount Tosso area, which will be examined during the twenty-ninth session of the Mixed Commission, tentatively scheduled to take place in Yaoundé, on 1 and 2 March 2012.

During its twenty-fifth session, held in Yaoundé on 8 and 9 October, the Cameroon-Nigeria Mixed Commission focused on the contract for emplacement of the first permanent border demarcation pillars on the ground, which commenced in mid-November.

At the invitation of His Excellency Mr. Paul Biya, President of the Republic of Cameroon and current Chairman of the United Nations Standing Advisory Committee on Security Questions in Central Africa, the heads of State and Government of Central Africa met in Yaoundé from 25 to 26 February 1999 to review the social and political situation in the subregion.
