Article 39 of the Penal Code of 1983 states that probation officers shall be appointed by a decision of the Minister of Social Affairs and Labour and shall take an oath before the juvenile judge to perform their duties faithfully and honestly.

علماً بأن هناك في كل محكمة قسماً خاصاً بالأحداث، حيث تنص المادة 450 من قانون الإجراءات الجزائية على ما يلي: " يشكل قسم الأحداث من قاضي الأحداث رئيساً ومن قاضيين محلفين " .

Although Qatari legislation does not make explicit provision for the child's right to have the free assistance of an interpreter, this falls within the discretionary power of the juvenile judge, particularly since article 43 of the Juveniles Act stipulates: " A juvenile shall not be charged any fees or expenses in respect of the court proceedings provided for under the terms of this Act. "
177- إن إمكانية حصول الطفل على مساعدة مترجم شفوي مجاناً لم تنص عليها التشريعات القطرية صراحة ولكن هذا يدخل ضمن سلطة قاضي الأحداث التقديرية خصوصاً وأن المادة 43 من قانون الأحداث تنص على أن " لا يلتزم الحدث بأداء أية رسوم أو مصاريف أمام المحاكم في الدعوى المتعلقة بذلك القانون " .

(e) Reconsider the reservation made with regard to the possibility of having the same juvenile judge as an investigating and a sentencing judge since the requirement of an independent and impartial authority or judicial body (art. 40 (2) (b) (iii)) does not necessarily and under all circumstances mean that investigating and sentencing juvenile judges cannot be the same person;
