29. Given that current legislation outlaws all discrimination on the grounds of sex and stipulates that conditions be set in place to enable women and men to realize their full potential in all spheres of life, the adoption of a law on gender equality would not seem of decisive importance for the implementation of an effective gender policy in the country.
29- ولما كان القانون الحالي يمنع التمييز على أساس الجنس وينص على توفير الأوضاع المناسبة للازدهار الشخصي للنساء والرجال في جميع مجالات النشاط فإنه ليس هناك ما يدعو الآن إلى إصدار قانون بشأن المساواة بين الجنسين لتنفيذ سياسة فعالة للمساواة بين الرجال والنساء في البلد.

20. CEDAW also called upon Comoros to prioritize the elaboration and adoption of a law on gender equality which incorporated the prohibition of discrimination against women, and to revise its legislation with the aim to repeal discriminatory provisions against women, such as those contained in the Family Code.
