ولاحظت اللجنة أيضا أن عمل اﻷمانة فيما يتعلق بتحرير الخلاصات وتخزين قرارات المحاكم وهيئات التحكيم في شكلها اﻷصلي وترجمة الخلاصات الى سائر لغات اﻷمم المتحدة ونشرها في لغات اﻷمم المتحدة الست وإحالة الخلاصات والنصوص الكاملة لقرارات المحاكم وهيئة التحكيم الى اﻷطراف المهتمة، بناء على طلبها، سيزداد كثيرا مع ازدياد عدد قرارات المحاكم وهيئات التحكيم التي يغطيها نظام جمع السوابق القضائية.

The system intends to promote international awareness of such legal texts to enable judges, arbitrators, lawyers, parties to commercial transactions and other interested persons to take decisions and awards relating to those texts into account in dealing with matters within their responsibilities and to promote the uniform interpretation and application of those texts.
ويستهدف هذا النظام إذكاء الوعي الدولي بتلك النصوص القانونية، مما يمكّن القضاة والمحكّمين والمحامين والأطراف في المعاملات التجارية وسائــر الأشخـاص المعنيين من أخذ قرارات المحاكم وهيئات التحكيم المتعلقة بهذه النصوص بعين الاعتبار لدى تناول المسائل المندرجة ضمن نطاق مسؤولياتهم والتشجيع على توحيد تفسير تلك النصوص وتطبيقها.
