In November, the office provided assistance to the group of experts appointed by the Secretary—General to evaluate the evidence of violations of international and humanitarian law by the Khmer Rouge and to propose measures to bring about national reconciliation, strengthening democracy and addressing the issue of individual accountability.
وفي تشرين الثاني/نوفمبر، قدم المكتب المساعدة لفريق الخبراء الذي أنشأه الأمين العام للتحقيق في الانتهاكات التي وقعت للقانون الدولي والقانون الإنساني من جانب الخمير الحمر ولاقتراح تدابير للتوصل الى المصالحة الوطنية وتعزيز الديمقراطية ومعالجة قضية المساءلة الفردية.

The Commission, furthermore, requested the Secretary—General, through his Special Representative for Human Rights in Cambodia, in collaboration with COHCHR, to examine any request by Cambodia for assistance in responding to past serious violations of Cambodian and international law as a means of bringing about national reconciliation, strengthening democracy and addressing the issue of individual accountability.
كما طلبت اللجنة من الأمين العام أن يدرس، بواسطة ممثله الخاص لحقوق الإنسان في كمبوديا، وبالتعاون مع مكتب المفوضة السامية لحقوق الإنسان في كمبوديا، أي طلب تتقدم به كمبوديا لمساعدتها على التصرف الملائم ازاء الانتهاكات الجسيمة الماضية للقانون الكمبودي والقانون الدولي، على أساس أن ذلك يشكل وسيلة لتحقيق المصالحة الوطنية، وتعزيز الديمقراطية، ومعالجة قضية المساءلة الفردية.

(b) To examine the request by the Cambodian authorities for assistance in responding to past serious violations of Cambodian and international law, including the possibility of the appointment, by the Secretary-General, of a group of experts to evaluate the existing evidence and propose further measures, as a means of bringing about national reconciliation, strengthening democracy and addressing the issue of individual accountability.
)ب( أن يبحث ما طلبته السلطات الكمبودية من مساعدة لمواجهة الانتهاكات الخطيرة في الماضي للقانونين الكمبودي والدولي، بما في ذلك إمكانية قيام اﻷمين العام بتعيين فريق من الخبراء لتقييم اﻷدلة الموجودة واقتراح تدابير أخرى، كوسيلة لتحقيق المصالحة الوطنية، وتعزيز الديمقراطية، ومعالجة قضية المساءلة الفردية.
