In conclusion, the Group of 77 and China looked forward to the forthcoming Group of 77 South Summit to be held in Havana in 2000, which it hoped would give fresh impetus to cooperation among developing countries in sectors of strategic importance and to the formation of a new strategic partnership with the developed world.
وقال في الختام إن مجموعة الـ ٧٧ والصين تتطلع إلى مؤتمر قمة بلدان الجنوب الذي تعقده مجموعة الـ ٧٧ في هافانا في عام ٢٠٠٠، الذي يرجى أن يضيف زخما جديدا للتعاون فيما بين البلدان النامية في قطاعات اﻷهمية الاستراتيجية، ولصياغة شراكة استراتيجية جديدة مع العالم المتقدم النمو.

The draft resolution focused on the need for strengthened cooperation between developing countries at the regional and subregional levels, and recognized the important contribution that the forthcoming South Summit in Havana could provide for the strengthening of South-South cooperation.
وقال أن مشروع القرار يركز الاهتمام على ضرورة تعزيز التعاون فيما بين البلدان النامية على الصعيدين اﻹقليمي ودون اﻹقليمي، ويدرك ما سيقدمه مؤتمر قمة بلدان الجنوب المقبل الذي سيعقد في هافانا، كوبا، من إسهام ذي أهمية لتعزيز التعاون فيما بين بلدان الجنوب.

His delegation therefore looked forward to the convening of the Group of 77 South Summit, which would be a forum for discussing globalization and providing the countries of the South with guidelines on adapting liberalization and globalization to their own situations and developmental needs.
