54. In 1997, many regional conferences and meetings on the exploitation of child labour were held. These include the Amsterdam Child Labour Conference, which was held in February, the Arusha Child Labour Conference organized by the Organization of African Unity in April, the Cartagena de Indias Conference organized in May and the forthcoming Oslo Conference in October.
