Dr. Cornelio Sommaruga (Switzerland), President of the Foundation of Moral Rearmament, Caux, and of the Geneva International Centre for Humanitarian Demining; former President of the International Committee of the Red Cross, 1987-1999.
الدكتور كورنيليو سوماروغا (سويسرا)، رئيس مؤسسة نزع السلاح الخلقي، كو، ومركز جنيف الدولي للإزالة الإنسانية للألغام، الرئيس السابق للجنة الصليب الأحمر الدولية، 1987-1999.

3. Pursuant to resolution 1405 (2002), on 22 April 2002, I established a fact-finding team composed of Martti Ahtisaari, Sadako Ogata and Cornelio Sommaruga.
3 - وعملا بالقرار 1405 (2002)، أنشأتُ في 22 نيسان/أبريل 2002 فريقا لتقصي الحقائق مؤلفا من السيد مارتي أتيساري والسيدة ساداكو أوغاتا والسيد كورنيليو سوماروغا.

The formal meeting was chaired by Canada’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Lloyd Axworthy, and included the participation of Cornelio Sommaruga (President, International Committee of the Red Cross), Carol Bellamy (Executive Director, United Nations Children’s Fund) and Olara Otunnu (Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Children and Armed Conflict), as well as the 15 Council members.
وقد ترأس الاجتماع الرسمي وزير خارجية كندا لويد لويد أكسورثي، وشارك فيه كورنيليو سوماروغا )رئيس اللجنة الدولية للصليب اﻷحمر(، وكارول بيلامي )المديرة التنفيذية لمنظمة اﻷمم المتحدة للطفولة( وأولارا أوتونو )الممثل الخاص لﻷمين العام المعني بأثر الصراع المسلح على اﻷطفال( فضلا عن أعضاء المجلس اﻟ ١٥.

The team's full members would include three principals (Mr. Ahtisaari, Sadako Ogata and Cornelio Sommaruga) and two Senior Advisers (Major General William Nash, as Military Adviser, and Deputy Commissioner Peter Fitzgerald, as Police Adviser).
واشتملت العضوية الكاملة للفريق على ثلاثة أعضاء رئيسيين (هم السيد اهتيساري والسيدة ساداكو أوغاتا والسيد كورنيليو سوماروغا)، وعلى اثنين من كبار المستشارين (هما اللواء وليام ناش بصفته مستشارا عسكريا، ونائب المفوض بيتر فيتزجيرالد بصفته مستشارا شرطيا).

7. At the opening session, messages were delivered to the meeting on behalf of the Secretary General of the United Nations, Mr. Kofi Annan, and the President of the International Committee of the Red Cross, Dr. Jakob Kellenberger, and, by the 1997 Nobel Peace Prize Co-Laureate, Ms. Jody Williams, and the President of the Geneva International Centre for Humanitarian Demining (GICHD), Mr. Cornelio Sommaruga.
7- وفي الجلسة الافتتاحية، تمت تلاوة رسائل موجهة إلى الاجتماع بالنيابة عن الأمين العام للأمم المتحدة، السيد كوفي عنان، ورئيس اللجنة الدولية للصليب الأحمر، الدكتور جاكوب كيلنبرغر، والحائزة على جائزة نوبل للسلام لعام 1997 بالمناصفة، السيدة جودي وليامز، ورئيس مركز جنيف الدولي لإزالة الألغام للأغراض الإنسانية، السيد كورنيليو سوماروغا.

Mr. Brian Atwood, Ambassador Colin Granderson, Dame Ann Hercus, Mr. Richard Monk, General (ret.) Klaus Naumann, Ms. Hisako Shimura, Ambassador Vladimir Shustov, General Philip Sibanda, Dr. Cornelio Sommaruga and I accepted this challenge out of deep respect for you and because each of us believes fervently that the United Nations system can do better in the cause of peace.
